MATRIC HONORED AS 2011 MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR FINALIST
Pittsburgh, PA -- Matric was honored as a finalist at the Manufacturer of the Year (MOY) 2011 program in the 300 to 999 employees category on Thursday, December 1, 2011.
The program is administered by the Pittsburgh Business Times annually to showcase the premiere manufacturing companies in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. There are five total categories based on em ployee size and a "Sustainable" category to recognize those manufacturing companies taking steps to go "green" in their operations. Matric was also honored as a Sustainable finalist.
The awards banquet honored 21 finalists/category winners at a banquet held at the Omni William Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. A social hour was held prior to the dinner. A new feature for the social hour this year was to have each company exhibit their products and/or services on a tabletop display. Matric displayed a variety of printed circuits boards, cable assemblies and literature to showcase Matric PCB capabilities and quality. It provided an excellent networking opportunity to easily answer any questions about what Matric manufactures and possibly develop future customer contacts.
Following the dinner, a video presentation was used to help introduce the finalist in each category, before the winner was revealed. The narrated videos described the various services or products provided, where the company was located and current top managemen t of each business. After the category winner was announced, a special video interview of the top management official was shown. The winners accepted their award, said a few words and the program continued.
Although Matric was not chosen as a category winner, we were all extremely pleased to be a finalist and first-time participant in this annual event to honor manufacturers in our region. The ability to network with similar companies from our area and share experiences made the event worthwhile. |
