Matric Celebrates 40 Years in the EMS Industry
Matric Limited in Seneca, PA, is celebrating 40 years in the electronics manufacturing service industry this year. Over the decades, the company has remained on the cutting edge by continually investing in the technology and new equipment. For instance, the company has had fully automatic surface mount technology (SMT) systems that are in-line and joined by conveyor systems since 2000. In 2009, Matric placed 8.2 million parts using the three separate lines of automated SMT equipment. The systems were upgraded with a sophisticated lot tracking program last year, as well.

Other recent machinery investments include an x-ray inspection machine that allows for non-destructive inspection of critical solder joints and components, an automatic selective solder machine for repeatable precision soldering, a laser-etch machine for engraving valuable information in the form of small bar codes and even logo artwork.
In January, 2010, Matric acquired certification for the AS 9001, Aerospace quality management system, which works to bolster the quality levels established with the ISO 9001 system. They were also able to renew their IPC RoHS Certification, which ensures Lead-Free capable manufacturing processes.
Perhaps the most positive news for Matric and the PA workforce community over the past few months has been the hiring of 50 new associates for the manufacturing shifts to handle current and future orders. |
