SUMMARY:
Shall be capable of making determination of acceptability of customer equipment and/or new product, and proper disposition of item. Shall serve as a customer liaison person by promoting and maintaining positive customer relationships.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Visually inspect assemblies to determine if they are built to customer specifications.
  • Perform electronic testing of assemblies.
  • Be able to disassemble and re-assemble units correctly.
  • Perform basic electronic/ functional troubleshooting for assemblies that do not pass the accepted test procedures.
  • Identify faulty components, components installed incorrectly, and detect other quality defects.
  • Adjust or replace defective components to meet established standards.
  • Identify, prepare and correctly solder components to PC board. Become solder certified.
  • Assemble prototype units.
  • Maintain accurate records on paper and/or computer.
  • Show competency in Matric Limited part numbering system.
  • Determine the priority of the scheduled work and adjust to changes daily.
  • Shall practice safe work habits and report all safety hazards to the supervisor.
  • Shall be responsible for inspecting your work and identifying quality defects.
  • Be accountable for the quality and quantity of your work.
  • Assist co-workers with problems encountered.
  • Shall be instrumental in improving processes and in creative problem-solving.
  • Be familiar with company operations and regulations.
  • Help to maintain good morale within the department.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Shall be familiar with and able to use the following hand tools: screwdriver, pliers, wire cutter, wire stripper, various small wrenches, etc.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Be able to utilize the following test equipment for inspection and troubleshooting, and verify that it is operational and within calibration: Volt/ohm/milliammeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, waveform generators, power supplies, various analog and digital tests sets, EPROM/PLD programmers, cable autotesters, and proprietary test equipment as needed.
  • Have a general knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Able to work with speed and accuracy in assigned tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively and relate to co-workers.
  • Able to professionally handle communications with customers and vendors.
  • Must be able to use computer properly for retrieving/ storing data.
  • Shall be able to follow verbal instructions and function with minimum guidance.
  • Shall maintain a neat appearance about self and work areas.
  • Shall be presentable to customer at all times.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school or GED. Accepted electronics training - degree, technical certificate, vocational schooling and/or accepted correspondence course.
