Matric Executives Meet with New Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania
Oil City, PA. -- Matric executives recently attended the Oil Region Alliance’s annual breakfast meeting held at the Franklin Commons.
The featured speaker at the event was Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, Jim Cawley. Mr. Cawley spoke about the power of the private sector in creating family-sustaining jobs to help turn around Pennsylvania’s economy. Cawley also talked about curbing excess spending in Harrisburg, and the administration’s pledge “to not raise taxes.” Just two months into the job, and facing a $4 billion budget deficit, Cawley and Governor Tom Corbett has found it necessary to freeze funding for more than 700 redevelopment projects.
Following the breakfast, Matric officials spoke with the Lt. Governor to outline business growth and expansion constraints Matric is facing. The Oil Region Alliance also prepared an informational package on Matric’s broadband and sewerage issues for Mr. Cawley, with the anticipation of assistance from the Governor’s office and DCED to support Matric and ensure our future here in Venango County.
