Matric Limited in Seneca, PA, will be celebrating 40 years in the electronics manufacturing service industry in 2011. Over the decades, the company has remained on the cutting edge by continually investing in the technology and new equipment. For instance, the company has had fully automatic surface mount technology (SMT) systems that are in-line and joined by conveyor systems since 2000. Matric SMT Machines Now Have Lot Tracking Programs
Surface Mount Technology (SMT) has been around since the 1960s, but it wasn’t until the 1980s until this technology really began to show its worth. Matric has been at the forefront of the SMT curve since 1989, when it began to utilize the process. In the early 2000s, the first of 3 MYDATA brand pick and place machines was installed. Two more fully automated SMT lines were added by 2006.
In 2009, Matric placed over 8.2 million parts using the SMT equipment. With the vast amount of components that pass through the machines on a daily basis, keeping track of them can be a daunting task. To help bolster the lot tracking capabilities of components that are being placed on certain boards, the MYLabel and MYTrace programs were added to the machines.
MYLabel enables fast feeder loading and inventory tracking. Matric associates load a reel, stick or tray into a magazine in just two barcode scans and all part information is automatically transferred to the machine.

Based on the ISO 9000 requirements, AS 9100 utilizes most of the processes and procedures that were already well-entrenched into the everyday operations at Matric, so adapting to the stricter standards required little change. Matric acquired the original ISO 9001 certification in 1996.

MATRIC GROUP COOKBOOK BENEFITS HUMANE SOCIETY
The Associates of Matric and Dynamic (Matric Group) recently published their very first “Favorite Recipes Cookbook”. After many years discussing the idea, it finally came time to make the dream a reality. The end result is an awesome collection of 500 tried and true recipes. Plans for the book began in late summer and the professionally published book arrived in early December.
All proceeds from the sale of the cookbook are being generously donated to the Humane Society of Venango County.
