Matric Hosts Open House

SENECA, PA. -- Matric hosted an Open House Friday, October 13, 2006.  Matric expanded its operations by adding 20,000 square feet to its existing 55,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and by purchasing new machinery and equipment.

Ground-breaking for the addition began in March, and was recently completed in September.  The latest building addition marks the third expansion at the Seneca-based plant.  The first was completed in 1994 and the second in 1998.  Employment has also grown dramatically in the past year from 200 associates in January, to 270 at present.

Customers, suppliers, friends and family of Matric were invited to attend the day-long celebration.  Guests enjoyed group tours of the facility, food, and fun activities for the kids.  A ribbon cutting ceremony with local officials Scott Hutchinson, Gary Hutchison, Pete Winkler and Randy Sytes.  The Mostly Brass Band enterained the crowd from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“We are very pleased to be part of the Pennsylvania manufacturing community,” said Richard Turner, President of Matric.  “Our strong growth is a direct result of support from our customers and commitment from our dedicated work force.  We are excited about the future and our ability to continue to provide outstanding service to our existing and emerging customers.  This expansion will help us meet the needs and growth of all our customers.  It will also help us meet the growing requirements of our wind energy business developed through MLS Electrosystems that supplies sophisticated electronic blade pitch control systems to the wind energy industry.”
