SAFETY GOAL REACHED

Matric reached its goal of 365 days without a workplace injury at the close of the business day on May 3, 2006.  Despite the almost 30% increase in associates in the past year and integration of new equipment throughout the plant, associates have practiced safe work habits to avoid any mishaps.

On May 25th, 2006, Matric associates were rewarded with a delicious steak dinner. The menu included steak or veggie pattie; baked potato; a pepper, onion & mushroom medley; corn on the cob; salad; garlic toast; cherry pie; apple pie and vanilla ice cream.

The interior building space at the Seneca, Pennsylvania, location has reached maximum capacity and there are over 70 new associates since last year.  Combine those issues with an extremely busy workplace and you have the ingredients for potential accidents.

The standing safety record for consecutive days without an accident is 669, which was achieved 7 years ago.  Workplace safety is a high priority issue at Matric.
