On June 13, members of the Joy Global management and engineering teams stopped by the Matric facility to present the 2016 Joy Premiere Supplier award to Matric Limited.
Global Category Manager Jim Krellner spoke on behalf of Joy, which was acquired by Komatsu Mining in April. Krellner spoke of the long work history between Matric and Joy, stretching back to Matric’s inception in 1971, before revealing the list of the qualifications required to receive the award. These qualifications include a level of quality of less than 3,000 D.P.M. or 99.7%, on time delivery of 95% or better and a minimum sales total.
From Left to Right: Matric Director of Sales Administration Tracie Johnston, Komatsu Senior Buyer Bob Caracci, Matric Owner Rick Turner, Komatsu Global Category Manager Jim Krellner and Komatsu Purchasing Manager Linda Biondi.
President and Owner, Rick Turner, accepted the award on behalf of the Matric associates following Krellner’s remarks. Turner expressed his gratitude to Joy for the recognition of Matric’s hard work, which he praised the associates of Matric for providing.
This marks the second time that Matric has won this distinguished honor, also taking home the award in 2014.
The award itself, a hand-forged plate made by local business Wendall August Forge, reads:
“Joy Premier Supplier 2016″
“Quality, Fulfillment, Value and Partnership”
